Ghost Dinner
Ghost Dinner is a deeply personal reflection on presence, absence, and the fractured state of human connection. Set around a dinner table, three figures sit in silence, not alone, but not truly together.
One is lost in the glow of a phone, absorbed in a world beyond reach. Another quietly observes, aware of the disconnect unfolding before them. The third, bandaged and withdrawn, sits in a psychically distant state, present in body but removed from reality.
With the use of emoji faces and sculptural, food-like objects, the work blurs the line between intimacy and illusion. The dinner setting, a symbol of unity and familial warmth, becomes a stage for isolation and quiet dysfunction. Ghost Dinner asks: what do we lose when we fail to be present with those in front of us?
