A Watercolour Series
REFLECTION
Abisola Kuburat Gbadamosi
This three-part series traces the quiet yet radical act of turning inward. Through watercolor’s translucent layers, the works embody how memory, identity, and spirit surface in shifting, fluid ways, never fixed, always becoming. Personally, DID is not fragmentation alone, but a complex ecology of selves, each carrying memory, protection, tenderness, and spirit.
Watercolor, with its uncontrollable flow and translucent layers, mirrors how these selves surface: fluid, overlapping, and shifting in presence. The feminine forms dissolve into blossoms, echoing the way identity can feel both scattered and whole, fragile and resilient, hidden yet luminous.
This series extends my ongoing inquiry into the inner child and inner teenager, into art as therapy, and into the spiritual truth that renewal is cyclical.
Each painting is a meditation on resilience, the feminine body as vessel, nature as witness, and spirit as guide. Together, they affirm that self-reflection is not a solitary act but a blooming, an infinite return to wholeness.
