5pm
This scene is a portal to my past, a memory of DragonBall Z, my favorite cartoon, a treasure I often missed, falling asleep after a long school day. My mother, ever patient, would watch for me, her laughter a gentle tease as she recounted the episodes I'd slept through. It wasn’t just about the cartoon; it was about the shared time, the unspoken bond forged in those quiet moments.
The red room, a recurring motif in my work, represents the warmth of home, the sanctuary where memories are made. The checkered floor, a stark contrast, symbolizes the balance between joy and the challenges of life. The dice head, a constant reminder of fate’s unpredictable nature, here, it seems, holds a quiet understanding, a silent acknowledgment of the love that transcends sleep and missed episodes.
"5pm" is a snapshot of intimacy, a glimpse into the heart of a home where stories are shared, laughter is cherished, and love is found in the simple act of watching cartoons together. It’s a tribute to the mothers who hold our memories close, who fill the gaps in our lives with their unwavering presence, and who remind us that even in the midst of life's chaos, there is always time for a shared moment, a shared laugh, a shared story.
