In every line of code, every brushstroke on a digital canvas, every pixel of an augmented reality (AR) portrait, today’s artists are shaping the future—and in doing so, they become the ancestors of tomorrow. Future Ancestors: Blending Heritage with Technology is an exploration of the ways contemporary artists are laying the groundwork for future artistic movements. This exhibition highlights the impactful power of technology in shaping said movements as well as in redefining cultural narratives.

Organised by Sokari London, Future Ancestors poses the possibility of ancestry as a perpetual and concurrent concept thereby challenging the notion of it as something fixed in time. Today’s visionaries are laying the groundwork for the next chapter of creative expression; each piece in this exhibition is an exemplification of the boundless possibilities of heritage merging with modern innovation.
